An exciting opportunity for a permanent position has arisen in Black Country Healthcare Foundation NHS Trust.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated **Clinical Research Nurse or Practitioner** to support the delivery of studies across a number of different clinical areas.
You will work on a broad range of interventional and observational studies, run by commercial sponsors and Academia, and also bring your organisational skills to our research team.
Ultimately, you will enhance the care we provide to patients and ensure that any research that is undertaken within the department safeguards the wellbeing of patients and it is conducted within ICH Good Clinical Practice Guidelines for Research.
**Main duties of the job**
The Clinical Research Nurse or Practitioner (CRP) role is pivotal in the efficient day-to-day running of commercial and academic clinical trials, supporting the trial’s Principal Investigators in ensuring the smooth running of research studies. As Research Nurse or CRP, you will have the responsibility to play a significant part in coordinating research activities within the Trust, this will include assisting in study set up, identification of service users and staff for studies, enrolment, screening, consent taking and research follow up assessments.

**Detailed job description and main responsibilities**
The post holder is expected to work autonomously and also as part of a team, be proactive and organised to deliver research and produce a quality data within timelines so the NIHR targets are achieved.

- Health Science Degree or Nursing Qualification
Experience

- The ability to establish appropriate documentation and record keeping
Desirable criteria
- Demonstrable experience in the management of a broad portfolio of research studies within the NHS
- Experience of working in an NHS environment
- Professional familiarity with mental health and/or social care practice and terminology
Knowledge

- Ability to prioritise and manage workload

- Knowledge of health research delivery, design and methods
Skills/personal qualities

- To be able to assess patient information and to accurately record data in a timely manner
- Good communication and interpersonal skills

- To help identify patients eligible to take part in research projects and to provide information, advice and support for patients involved in research projects
- Competent user of IT, especially MS-Office
- Demonstrable commitment to personal and professional development that is appropriate to the job roles
Desirable criteria
- Ability to work flexible hours and travel around Black Country Healthcare sites to meet the needs of the service
- Be willing to undertake phlebotomy training in order to take blood for research purposes when required
- Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle
