This post would be particularly beneficial for those doctors wishing to gain additional senior registrar experience in obstetrics and gynaecology in a supportive environment and develop an area of interest and expertise. A variety of SITMs are offered in both obstetrics and gynaecology. This post will provide the opportunity for the post holder to access specialist clinical sessions appropriate to their development needs and participate in clinical work at ST6-7. Please see RCOG Training matrix to review expected competencies as we would expect the post holder to be competent at skills ST1-5. T he post holders will be required to contribute to a 48 hour EWTD full shift rota.

1) To support the inpatient service in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at New Cross Hospital.

**2) Outpatient workload**: duties involve antenatal/gynaecology clinics and elective operating theatre lists

3) Research, education, audit and continuing professional development

a. To take responsibility for continuing professional education in accordance with guidelines set out by the appropriate college/faculty/professional body.

b. To initiate and participate in research and audit programmes in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.

c. To work in collaboration with colleagues in developing skills to provide new ways of working across different professions, organisations i.e. community/primary care.

4) In conjunction with colleagues, to ensure that the requirements of clinical governance are met.

5) Duties will involve labour ward and emergency gynaecology cover, antenatal/gynaecology clinics and elective operating theatre lists. The post holder will be responsible for the clinical care of Obstetric and Gynaecological patients under supervision as necessary.

6) The post holder will be responsible for the maintenance of proper case records and investigations on patients, and correspondence with General Practitioners and others as required.
