Halo Recruit are working with a prestigious business within the heart of the City of London, to recruit for a temporary recycling operative to cover holidays.

This role is responsible for completing duties required in connection with sorting the recycling and waste collection within designated areas of the Estate including Housekeeping duties.

**Tasks include**:

- To carry out waste and recycling duties as instructed within the premises/demised area.
- To use vacuum, mops and other items of cleaning equipment including machinery in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions, Health and Safety manuals and only after appropriate training has been received to ensure the recycling area is kept clean and tidy.
- To assist the team to ensure recycling targets are met and all storage areas are clean and tidy including periodic deep cleaning to Waste/Recycling Room. This will include separating, sorting and weighing the recycling.
- Using compactors, bailers and other waste machines to reduce volume.
- Move recycling and waste bins to loading bay area for collection. A lift is available but if a breakdown occurs, alternative routes will need to be organised and utilised. Collections will also include from retail areas.
- To ensure a thorough understanding of site and abide by all Health and Safety information.
- Cover Housekeeping staff in case of holiday cover or staff shortages.
- To have read and abide by specific site rules and regulations.
- To maintain stock levels and advise if consumable products are needed, ahead of time.
- To handle and use any chemical or solution only in accordance with the manufacturer’s instructions, and after reading and fully understanding the appropriate COSHH sheets.
- Responding positively to any reasonable instruction from a Manager.
- Displaying a positive, friendly and ‘can-do’ attitude.
- Presenting a friendly and helpful attitude to customers.
- Sorting through bags to separate recyclable waste correctly to improve recycling targets.
- Ensuring that every duty is carried out in a safe manner and that all Health and Safety legislation is adhered to, particularly the placing of warning signs when attempting any waste, recycling or cleaning task that may involve risk to others
- Completing Company administration in a timely and effective manner.
- Attending meetings and other Company activities as required.
- Presenting a professional image consistent with the Company at all times.
- Ensuring all company property is kept safe and in good condition.
- Overtime may become available from time to time outside of above hours dependant on workload and staff cover, this may include daytime, weekend and evening work.
- Any other duty reasonably required by the Company.
- A task schedule will be provided and may be amended from time to time.

**MONDAY TO FRIDAY**
- 1PM-11PM

**Location**

City of London, Greater London

Closest tube station: Bank Station (2 mins walk)

**Rate of Pay**

£12 per hour, paid weekly by direct bank transfer
