**Where you will be working**:
This is a remote role, ideally based in the Northwest of England or Midlands region so there is the option to work from an Encylclis office when required.

**The opportunity**

Encyclis Limited are seeking an experienced Purchasing Specialist with high energy, dedicated and with a solid background in purchasing, logistics and supplier development.

Reporting to the Regional Maintenance Support Manager (dotted into the Facilities), the individual will support the existing procurement team with all their activity for the Encyclis Energy from Waste facilities to find cost effective deals and suppliers for the business.

**Responsibilities**:
**KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Execute procurement responsibilities (RFQ’s, Purchase Orders, Match expectations) for scheduled and unscheduled outage work and day to day procurement activities to ensure sustained plant operations.
- Liaise with key company employees at both sites to determine their product and service needs.
- The role will span strategic, tactical, and transactional purchasing activities.
- Coordinate with internal functions and create synergies between the sites to control and reduce costs.
- Source suppliers and contractors, contract drafting, negotiation and managing through the whole procurement process.
- Conduct research to source the best products, suppliers and contractors in terms of best value, delivery and quality.
- Keep up to date with trend and innovations, regulation and new technology that can impact on the business.
- Run tenders, evaluate bids and make recommendations based on commercial and technical factors.
- Negotiate and agree contracts, monitoring the quality of service provided.
- Build and maintain good relationships with new and existing suppliers.
- Develop strategies to make sure that cost savings and supplier and contractor performance targets are met or exceeded.
- Undertake value for money reviews of existing contracts and arrangements.
- Forecast price trends and their impact on future activities.
- Analyse data and produce reports and statistics on spending and saving.
- Work with finance team on Forecasting and budgeting.
- Work with the Safety department to ensure contractors and materials meet all safety requirements
- Work with the Quality/Engineering Department to ensure materials specifications are to required standards

**QUALIFICATIONS**:
Strong general educational background with qualifications in supply chain management or purchasing and CIPS.

**EXPERIENCE**:

- Proven working experience within Purchasing.
- Knowledge of sourcing and procurement techniques and ability to read the market.
- Experience in Energy from Waste or large process plant considered desirable.
- A strong commercial acumen demonstrated in previous roles.

**SKILLS**:

- Strong general educational background.
- Strong written, verbal and presentation skills.
- Highly IT literate.
- Negotiation skills in order to get the best price and value for money.
- Commercial and financial awareness.
- Strong analytical ability.
- Planning skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external teams.
- Numeracy skills in order to analyse facts and figures.
- The ability to make important decisions and cope with the pressure of demanding targets and tight deadlines.
- Strong project management skills.
- Time management skills and the ability to deliver to deadlines.
- Flexible, adaptable and able to prioritise and multi-task.
- Confident, with the ability to make and retain strong relationships.
