Nursing Associate Band 4

The post holder will have successfully completed the Trainee Nursing Associate course over a period of two years, and includes obtaining a level 5 foundation degree equivalent qualification and registration on the NMC register.
The Nursing Associate will have gained the knowledge, understanding and skills required to become proficient to practice as a Nursing Associate and will work within the recognised Code of Conduct.
The role of the Nursing Associate will be to work with a range of Urology professionals within the Outpatient department and will be expected to liaise with other departments on a regular basis. The Nursing Associate will assess, plan, organise and deliver clinical care in line with service and patient needs while under supervision of the registered nurse.
To work as part of the Outpatient multi
- professional team providing care to urology clinic patients.
To work independently on assigned clinics and to seek advice from the registered nurse or registered care professional when needed.
To work in collaboration with others to ensure the safe and timely discharge of patients from the department, to include patients on hospital transport.
To provide mentorship to new starters and students, encouraging an effective learning environment for all.
To provide support and supervision to Healthcare Assistants to promote their own learning and development within the Urology Outpatients Department.
To carry out specific delegated clinical and non-clinical duties and responsibilities to a high standard and competency.
To communicate effectively with a wide range of healthcare professionals and general public that enters the Urology Outpatients Department.
To communicate effectively with colleagues, providing clear verbal, digital and written information and instructions when sharing information, delegating or handing over responsibility of clinics or patients.
