**Test Engineer / Lead. Sutton Coldfield based - Hybrid in office 2 days per week.**

Experienced Test Engineer needed to come in and set up a testing function. The organisation are very immature with testing strategies so you will need to take lead to help build this up for the organisation.

**PURPOSE OF ROLE**

Reporting into the Business Analyst Manager, your role will be to manage and co-ordinate User Acceptance Testing across multiple projects within the Business Change portfolio. You will be the main point of contact for testing related matters and use yourtechnical expertise to recommend and develop appropriate testing strategies. You will undertake testing and ensure accurate records of test results are maintained, reported on and where applicable, you will co-ordinate the activity of other test resources.

**PERFORMANCE MEASURES**
- The most appropriate test strategy is selected and executed, according to the project.
- Ensuring that requirements are met through acceptance criteria testing including go/no-go definitions.
- Strong relationships are built with stakeholders to facilitate cross-functional collaboration.
- Risks or issues associated with testing are identified and highlighted to the Project Manager.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Provide technical expertise of testing best practice throughout the development lifecycle and contribute to the development of the practice.
- Responsible for formulating a testing methodology and ensuring that it meets the needs of both waterfall and agile projects.
- Manage and report on the testing lifecycle to manage test results, defects and overall impact.
- Develop a detailed working knowledge and level of expertise to support the projects you are working on.
- Translate and interpret functional requirements for IT projects.
- Identify impacted users.
- Develop (and where required execute) the test strategy and test scope/plans/scripts for projects, including acceptance criteria and go-no-go definitions.
- Execute test scripts.
- Co-ordinate regression testing planning and execution.
- Plan and supervise other test resource (where relevant) to ensure resources are used in an effective way.
- Develop and recommend solutions to fix issues identified during testing.
- Act as the main point of contact in a project for testing related matters.
- Ensure project deliverables are met and delivered on time for each project and test phase.
- Provide forecasted or actual test estimates to contribute to overall project planning timelines and resource requirements and provide progress status reports.
- Identify project risks & issues relating to testing activities.
- Collaborate with relevant internal and external project stakeholders on testing matters.
- Attend and chair (where required) meetings to update on progress and status.
- Feed back testing practice outcome in lessons learned sessions.

**Experience needed**:

- Minimum of 3 years testing experience needed.
- Experience of testing core systems, ideally within a regulated industry.
- Experience of using test management tools.
- Experience of working with technical and business stakeholders, including Project Managers, Business Analysts and Development teams.
