This role is within the Infrastructure Team who are responsible for managing the firm’s networks, data centres, IT security, end-user technologies and their deployment. It is our job to make sure everything runs smoothly. We are a team made up of talented and passionate individuals who work together in an Agile environment to deliver solutions to constantly changing business needs.

As an Infrastructure Specialist you will be responsible for the ongoing support, and improvement of the storage and backup environments for RSM. You will be principally working in a team working across a range of products and systems within the Datacentre and Cloud stack. The role will involve liaising with product owners from within National Technology to ensure continued compliance with required security accreditations and implementing new technologies to maintain business improvement strategies.

You will be an experienced Storage and Backup engineer, able to monitor, maintain, upgrade, and replace solutions as required.

The responsibilities are varied, but will include:

- Manage, monitor, and maintain primary storage solutions.
- Manage, monitor, and maintain backup solutions, including secondary storage solutions. Perform ad-hoc restores as required.
- Manage, monitor, and maintain storage networks end to end.
- Analyse performance and usage trends, proactively identifying upgrade requirements.
- Ensure the highest quality of backup and restore capability, performing regular reviews, improving, and automating restore tests where possible, reporting back status and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Manage and continually improve business continuity solutions and processes.
- Keep up to date with technical updates and industry trends, proactively recommending and implementing best practices.
- Ensure that the product roadmaps for the areas of responsibility are up to date for longer term planning of software / hardware upgrades.

Minimum Qualifications

**Essential skills**
- Experience of working with iSCSi and FC solutions, including managing and maintaining the server-side configuration.
- Demonstrable technical experience and knowledge of multiple storage solutions.
- Demonstrable technical experience of multiple backup products.
- Experience of cloud native backup solutions to support a hybrid environment.
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience with Windows, File Systems, SQL, Exchange, and AD.
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience of VMWare.

**Desirable skills**
- Experience of working with HCI storage solutions.
- Experience of working with Cloud storage and integrating with on-premises solutions.
- Dell Storage Products - Compellent, PowerMax, PowerFlex, Data Domain.
- Veeam, Azure Backup
- Scrum / Kanban awareness
- Microsoft and VMWare certifications
- Wide knowledge of a number of premium storage, backup and business continuity solutions
