Our client is an established manufacturing business, part of a large global Group, providing communication solutions to organisations across the UK. The Senior Buyer will work strategically with suppliers to ensure supply and availability of electronic components,following industry best practice and in line with business requirements and growth plans.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Source and procure electronic components
- Set up agreements with strategic suppliers in order to maximise continuity of supply whilst minimising liability
- Negotiate lowest total cost of acquisition across all purchasing spend (supplier rationalisation/consolidating spend)
- Support new product development
- Market benchmarking activity to ensure incumbent suppliers are competitive and sustainable
- Maintain an appropriate approved supplier list for all electronic components
- Establish a new supplier selection process
- Ensure raw materials are received on time and at the specified quality levels
- Maintain MRP/ERP integrity e.g. lead times, unit costs, MOQs, etc.

**Skills & Experience**:

- Ideally degree/CIPS qualified
- Previous experience of purchasing semiconductors and other electronic components from
- both manufacturers and distributors
- Proven skilled negotiator
- Used to operating in a MRP/ERP environment
- Excellent IT skills, particularly Excel (Spreadsheets, Pivot tables, etc.)
