- to contribute to the creation, marking and verification of WSET Diploma in Wines examination papers against published learning outcomes;
- to support Level 4 exam wine logistics, including acquisition and shipping of samples and associated administration.

**Responsibilities**:
**Marking & verification**
- Support the Level 4 Diploma marking process, ensuring adherence to the agreed timetable
- Support the verification, moderation and borderline processes, and implement recommendations
- Support the recruitment, training, retention and allocation of markers
- Help devise marker training programmes, host training workshops and provide ongoing marker support
- Mark/re-mark scripts as applicable
- Liaise with wider WSET departments to ensure timely and accurate results issue

**Enquiries, Feedback and Appeals**
- Support the Level 4 enquiry and feedback processes, ensuring adherence to the agreed timetables
- Re-mark Level 4 scripts submitted under the enquiry procedures and make recommendations for change to the Enquiries & Appeals Panel
- Contribute to the integrity of the appeals process
- Contribute to the Level 4 Examiner Reports

**Distribution Logistics**
- Support the procurement of Level 4 examination wine samples within agreed budgets and in the strictest confidence
- Support the confidential, secure and timely dispatch of examination samples and papers to global Examination Centres
- Assist with the booking-in and sorting of Level 4 examination scripts on return from Examination Centres in preparation for dispatch to examiners for marking

**Question-setting/Marking Keys**
- Through membership of the WSET Level 4 Examination Panel, contribute to the authoring of exam questions, the production of examinations and the creation of marking keys
- Participate in the tasting and selection of wines for Diploma exams
- Contribute to the Moderator Panel meetings

**Qualification Management**
- Support the development and review of the WSET Level 4 Diploma qualification, ensuring the Learning Outcomes, Assessment Criteria, Ranges and assessment methodology are appropriate
- Ensure assessment standards are consistently applied and maintained across all Units of the WSET Level 4 Diploma
- In collaboration with members the Qualifications Team ensure that all WSET assessment materials meet the highest educational standards and are fit for purpose in terms of content and format

**Teamwork**
- Support and train team members as applicable
- Review learning support materials as required by the Academic Team

**Other Activities**
- Contribute to the successful operation of the Academic division overall, for example through membership of internal panels and committees, participating in the presentation of scholarships, attending trade fairs and other PR opportunities
- Contribute to the division’s awareness of its market and the needs of its customer base by actively seeking feedback from interested parties and ensuring views are recorded and fed into the relevant planning and review cycles
- Contribute to the successful overall operation of the WSET overall by undertaking such other tasks as may from time to time be requested

**Essential Criteria**:

- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Expertise in wines - WSET Level 4 Diploma required
- A dynamic self-starter committed to delivering work of the highest quality
- High levels of personal and professional integrity to work with and respect confidential data
- A sound planner who anticipates issues, prioritises and can work to tight deadlines
- Highly numerate with experience of reporting on complex datasets
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Excellent written and spoken communication, influencing and presentation skills
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and across departments

**Desirable Criteria**:

- Experience of giving objective written feedback to others
- Expertise in spirits, sake and/or beer
- A track record of working with high-quality qualifications and assessments
- Experience of working effectively in a zero-error/continuous improvement environment
