To be Palliative and Oncology Chaplain in the Department of Pastoral & Spiritual Care, which provides for the pastoral, spiritual, ethical and religious needs of patients, staff, visitors and students within the Trust. To work with chaplains, honorary chaplains, administrators, religious visitors, students, Department volunteers, and other members of staff across the Trust including the Palliative Care team.

a. Discern and assess pastoral, spiritual and religious need of patients, relatives, and staff.

b. Carry out referral visits and pastoral support as required.

c. To be a pastoral, spiritual, religious, and ethical resource to the Trust and wider community.

d. In the first instance this appointment will be for a period 21 months.

e. The post is offered as a Band 5 to persons who do not have demonstrable Hospital or institutional Chaplaincy experience, but can be paid at Band 6 for those who have such relevant experience.

**Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as 'Priority' and 'At Risk' status including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who are able to display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification
