Physiotherapy Assistant

This is an exciting opportunity to join a Swansea Bay University Health Board. The Exercise and Lifestyle Program (ELP) is a fairly new service. Its sits within the Musculoskeletal services. The role provides clinical and some admin support for Out patient and community Lifestyle clinics.. ELP clinics will be held across Neath Port Talbot and Swansea Bay settings. The post holder will be primarily be working as part of the Exercise and Lifestyle MDT OPD clinics. Providing the clinicians and MDT members with clinical and some support. As part of the role there will be direct patient contact and requirement to complete basic patient health measurements under the guidance of a qualified Physiotherapist. This role is predominantly a clinical support role, but will also cover some clerical duties across the service.
- To work within the physiotherapy team and assist in the delivery of the physiotherapy service to patients, with or without direct supervision of the physiotherapist, within all areas of the physiotherapy service.
- To undertake agreed treatment programmes with individual clients/patients following assessment by a physiotherapist.
- To maintain clinical records and report accurately to others
- To undertake aspects of assessment and delivery of treatment within agreed parameters, following assessment by the physiotherapist.
- To carry out all administrative duties, in relation to departmental needs and maintenance of records (paper and electronic) and statistical information.
- To develop skills and knowledge through participation in training and development opportunities
- To participate in CPD and develop skills and knowledge through participation in the service training scheme.
- To work with other physiotherapy assistants to meet the needs of the service.
- To work across the Health Board and travel between SBU Health Board sites as required to support service delivery.
