Job description

Challenge TRG are recruiting for the Royal Mint’s Lifestyle and Jewellery department based in Llantrisant, South Wales.

We are looking for jewellery production staff to work on an ongoing basis in a prestigious company steeped in History.

Here you will be working with new and bespoke manufacturing and production techniques in a technically advanced and high security site.

There will be numerous opportunities for career progression and cross training into a large number and variety of departments.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work creatively in a growing luxury market with an emphasis on sustainable materials.

Jewellery assembly operative staff pay rate: £21,169 - £26,000

What does the job entail

Within the Lifestyle department you will be part of the production and assembly of high value jewellery for the Royal Mint’s 886 brand.

At the Royal Mint we use a mix of traditional bench skills and modern technology to make precious metal and diamond jewellery out of sustainable e-waste gold and refined medical waste silver.

We are a small team so you will be required to assist and support the department in multiple areas. The following duties are not an exhaustive list but an indicator of the duties that may be assigned to you on the day-to-day:

- Polishing
- Drawing down wire
- Soldering
- Drilling
- Simple stone setting
- Cleaning up of castings
- Filing and profiling
- Striking metal blanks
- Laser engraving
- Use of laser welder

Selection criteria

Previous similar background in Jewellery would be essential for this position.

The use of hand tools and bespoke machinery

Numeracy & Literacy, manual Handling SHE testing

Must be able to pass a DBS check

Shift patterns, days and hrs of work

Monday to Friday 7am - 3pm
