**Role Overview**

In this exciting and dynamic role, within the Delta Group. As the Head of Events, you will develop and grow Delta Events holding overall responsibility for the Delta Events function, strategy design through to delivery operations.

You will be a brand ambassador and drive Delta Events as a market leader within the events sector, helping to reposition Delta Events as a leader in the sector by designing and developing a strong brand.

**Key responsibilities / deliverables**
- Developing the Delta events strategy in conjunction with the Executive Board
- Leading the Events Team, in the planning, scheduling, and delivering of the programme of events
- Identifying, creating, and executing a long-term programme of launch and repeat events with strong commercial angles and high revenue generation opportunities
- Leading on supplier relationship management and the procurement of services, to enable the delivery of the events programme.
- A trusted advisor to the Board, Senior Leadership teams, suppliers, and clients; developing events to maximise their reach, size and commercial potential growing customer satisfaction and increasing profitability.
- Working closely with all departments including Client Services and Delta Creative to help identify and build new business opportunities and contribute to pitches
- Taking responsibility for all facets of events delivery, ensuring there are well-articulated and understood operating procedures for events management, including pre-event production, logistics.
- Developing and building regular tracking and reporting to monitor customer satisfaction trend/market identification, and cost effectiveness of individual events, as well as the events programme, to inform the long-term strategy.
- Responsible for managing and protecting the Events Team’s equipment and assets, to ensure these meet client and business needs.
- Developing and enhancing processes, bringing new ideas and insight to the production process as well as the forward vision for event development
- Coaching and setting an example to the team of excellent service delivery of client projects
- Coordinating projects throughout the cycle from pitch delivery including logistics planning production delivery and team management
- Training and developing the team to enable them to deliver on brief and on budget to the highest service level standards
- Ensure all events are run to the compliance regulations This will include ensuring appropriate care is taken regarding working hours, travel, off-site working, and compliance with health and safety requirements, and good practice in risk management.
- Maintaining industry knowledge and contacts

**Financial**
- Managing the events budget to track financial performance, understand cost drivers, and realising efficiencies and continuous improvement
- Monitoring & managing events costs and resources
- Forecasting sales & revenue
- Ensuring all projects meet given budgets and hit internal margin targets

**Knowledge, Skills and Experience**
- We are looking for a creative, outgoing, and results-driven Head of Events, who is excited by the challenge of pushing forwards Delta’s events programme
- Extensive events management experience in a senior or leadership role, including management of end-to end delivery events at medium sized and large-scale venues, covering planning, pre-event production, logistics, on-site management, post-event breakdown,and post-event evaluation
- A strong people leader, with a proven track record in motivating and developing teams to deliver a high level of performance. A team player, with a hands-on management style, to guide delivery and performance, and encourage a positive team spirit
- A high degree of self-organisation, and the ability to manage multiple priorities, as well as the ability to solve problems on the ground, and remain calm when dealing with conflict or unforeseen circumstances
- Demonstrable experience in business and events planning, budgeting, and delivering revenue targets and efficiencies
- A commercial mindset and desire to innovate is essential.
- You should have a high level of understanding of the role of events in supporting lead generation, and event marketing
- Demonstrable experience of successful contract and price negotiation, and the management of external suppliers, venues, and contractors
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and sustain open, trusted relationships with customers, stakeholders, and suppliers, and pitch new ideas
- Proven experience of events risk management and health and safety
- Awareness of current trend and innovations in the events business, including events registration and management systems
