This is an exciting opportunity to join an established ICT Technical Services Team that serves University Hospitals Birmingham. We are looking for you to use your existing skills, knowledge & extensive experience to maintain an exemplary IT infrastructure and to develop new methodologies to continually improve user experience.

**Main duties, tasks & skills required**:
Provide effective IT technical knowledge and experience to maintain and enhance the availability and capacity of the IT infrastructure within the Trust which encompasses both clinical and non-clinical systems.

Take direct responsibility, as product champions for research, planning, implementation, configuration, documentation and training delivery of collaboration solutions within specified time scales and budgetary constraints.

Take responsibility, as technical project leads, for the planning and delivery of any technical components of medium to large scale projects.

**Person specification**:
**Qualifications**:
**Essential**:

- IT industry qualification (e.g. Microsoft or VMware specialist certification) acquired whilst employed in an IT role at a large organisation

**Desirable**:

- IT or Technology degree or equivalent

**Experience**:
**Essential**:

- Two years' experience in an IT role at third line tier within an enterprise environment.
- Two years third line experience with Microsoft Directory Services, including AD, DNS, DHCP and least privileged models.
- Two years third line experience in at least two enterprise software solutions, e.g. virtualisation, Microsoft 365, end-point management & security, MDM, backup, etc.

**Desirable**:

- Evidence of introducing new technology to facilitate productivity.
- Team leadership

**Additional Criteria**:
**Essential**:

- In-depth expert knowledge covering two or more of the following, with working knowledge of all listed:

- Proven storage array design, deployment, administration and support skills.
- An understanding of Cybersecurity readiness, response and recovery.
- Proven Directory Services (AD) design, deployment, administration and support skills.
- Proven scripting skills using one or more of the following: PowerShell, VB or other appropriate scripting tools.
- Proven security solution designs, deployment, administration and support skills.
- Proven infrastructure and back-office solution designs, deployment, administration and support skills
- Proven enterprise backup solution designs, deployment, and administration and support skills.
- Proven enterprise infrastructure monitoring, administration and remediation skills.
- Proven enterprise messaging and communication solution administration and support skills.
