A leading global high technology aerospace/defence business is currently recruiting for a Trade Compliance Officer to join based in the Kingston Upon Thames on a hybrid working basis.

The Trade / Export Compliance Officer will be responsible for supporting key stakeholders both internally and externally to ensure the correct licenses are in place, advise/support all trade and export compliance related queries with a good understanding of both UK / US export control regulations.

Role - Trade / Export Compliance Officer

Location - Kingston upon Thames (hybrid working, 2 days on-site per week)

Type - Permanent

Salary - £35,000 - £50,000 + benefits

The key roles and responsibilities of the Trade / Export Compliance Officer role and not be limited to:

- Ensure correct usage of licences on customer orders/services, hand carry and support bid activities on new opportunities highlighting licence requirements
- Application and monitoring of UK export licences, registrations of OGEL, gradings and annual reporting
- Support the tracking of International Export licenses and US authorisations to ensure continued compliance
- Maintain and update database of all UK/International export licences/movements and US export authorisations, held by the business
- Provide import requirements for all inbound traffic to nominated freight agents ensuring correct usage of classification and import schemes
- Escalate for guidance/ instruction, any matter involving interpretation of regional and U.S. laws and regulations governing international trade activities to the Export Compliance Lead.
- Conduct Denied Party Screening (DPS) transactions and support the review of potential questions where required.

Key skills and experience required for Trade / Export Compliance Officer role and not limited to:

- Previous in a similar Trade OR Export compliance role
- Ideally aerospace, defence or high technology background
- A good level of understanding of UK / US Export control regulations
- Excellent communication skills, both written and oral
- Eligible to gain UK (SC) Security clearance
