Here on C4, we are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Ward Clerk to join our team as we strive to provide high standards of care for all who come through our doors.

C4 is a busy elective and emergency surgical ward, constantly developing and responding to the needs of our service users. To assist the ward housekeepers and/or ward clerks in reporting and requesting maintenance work.

To assist the clinical matron with project work on the ward as appropriate.

To undertake any other duties commensurate with grade and experience.

Communicate sensitively, confidentially with empathy and in an understandable form to meet the wide range physical and emotional needs of patients, carers, families and staff.

To comply with trust policy on confidentially and data protection.

Responsible for monitoring use of administrative equipment and resources.

Promote effective and efficient use of ward and trust resources.

Raise and amend requisitions and purchase orders as requested.

Maintain appropriate stock levels to support administrative functions.

Collating and inputting audit data for ward onto the relevant databases. This is done on a daily, weekly and monthly basis.

Collect, track and distribute patient notes.

Maintain and update ward information boards.

Assistant with procurement of stock and equipment.

Book patient transport.

Report, record and monitor estates concerns for the ward.

Support WMA with acquisition of staff uniform and badges.

Support the elective admission lounge and surgical bed managers.
