**Band 3 Trainee Healthcare Support worker**
- You will be paid at a Band 2 level, while undertaking educational and clinical competencies to enable you to take on the full range of duties within the Band 3 Job descriptions. Following successful completion of the training program you will progress into the Band 3 pay scale, ideally within 9-12 months of starting.

**Band 3 Senior Healthcare Support Worker**Spotlight on the Orthopaedic Support Discharge Team**

Exciting opportunities are available to join OSD Team within the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. We have a position for a Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker (HCSW) and we are looking for passionate, caring, motivated people to join our highly skilled rehab team.

We offer the opportunity to work with a skilled team within a multidisciplinary environment and impact positively on the lives of thousands of patients and their families.

We have a vacancy for a HCSW who has a passion for care and rehabilitation to join our innovative and dynamic team within NHS Lothian orthopaedic pathway— providing you with the opportunity to gain a breadth of knowledge and exposure to multiple specialties.

**Roles**

To provide support with independent washing and dressing within patient's home environment. To provide support with independent meal making with patient's home environment. To provide prompting with medication as required.
- To provide support/supervision with patient's prescribed physiotherapy exercises.
- To encourage progression of mobility and transfer independence within patient's home and outdoors as advised by senior therapists.
- To communicate effectively with other HCSW and senior staff on shift to ensure consistent approach to care/rehab provision.
- To work 0700-1930 shift patterns (no night shifts), including weekends.
- To work autonomously in the community as a lone worker, managing multiple visits per day.
- To drive own vehicle or company car (manual gears), therefore the post requires applicant to have driving license.

Following successful interview all roles will have Induction and a 12 week probation period, where full support will be given.
