**As a member of our team, you'll be at the heart of the action, responsible for guiding customers as they ascend the rigging of this historic ship for the very first time. Your role will be crucial in ensuring the safety and enjoyment of our guests, as you work alongside our dedicated team to coordinate this one-of-a-kind attraction.**

**We're looking for someone with a passion for delivering exceptional customer service, who can create a positive and exciting environment for every guest to the Rig Climb.**

**Job Title**: Rig Climb Guide

**Reports to**: Duty Manager / Operations Manager

**Location**: The Cutty Sark Rig Climb Experience, Greenwich

**Rate of Pay**: Casual rate from £11.85/hour + Holiday Pay, or contracted salary available

**Principle Responsibilities & Duties**:

- To provide a warm, courteous welcome to all customers at the Cutty Sark Rig Climb.
- To ensure disclaimers & waivers have been signed.
- To guide groups of customers through the Rig Climb Experience.
- To deal with extraordinary client requests in a helpful manner.
- To provide assistance to the Duty/Operations Manager with administrative tasks.

**Customer Service & Personal Attributes**
- Excellent customer service skills with proven customer service experience.
- A good communicator who remains calm under pressure.
- An enthusiastic and positive attitude.
- Be able to work on own initiative & as part of a team.
- Energetic, flexible attitude to work.
- Enjoy working outdoors and at height.

**Expertise**
- An excellent awareness of Health and Safety and the ability to follow procedures.
- To be knowledgeable in PPE requirements and its use.
- To be proficient in all aspects of the Rescue process and be able to assist when required.

**Essential**
- An in-date, current DBS check _(Issued within 3 months prior to start date, or registered with the update service. If you do not hold this then on completion of the training course, one will need to be obtained)_

**Desirable**
- First Aid training (A suitable outdoor First-Aid qualification)
- Previous Tour Guiding experience
- Outdoor adventure experience and/or qualifications

**Selection Process & Training**

Training Course information:
We will provide training that is unique to the Cutty Sark Rig Climb. Pre-training learning packs will be sent out in advance of training for home learning

All areas of the Rig Climb and its delivery will be taught, and you must be at competent standard at the end of training to receive sign off from W&S.

The training course is a mixture of classroom-based and practical learning. Both a written and practical exam must be passed in order to take up a contract. Training course dates are listed below:

- Tuesday 25th April
- Wednesday 26th April
- Thursday 27th April

The above dates are the compulsory training for which you must be available. Training is paid at our training rate of £9.50/hour - this is paid via payroll and only upon successful completion of the training and assessment.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Permanent, Fixed term contract, Freelance, Zero hours contract

**Salary**: £12.73 per hour
