Warrington, United Kingdom Datel Full time

We are looking for a Payroll Apprentice to join the Datel team.

Location: Warrington office

**Job Details**:
This apprenticeship in Payroll offers you the chance to learn the craft from experienced payroll professionals whilst enabling eligibility to join the Chartered Institute for Payroll Professionals upon completion.
- WHAT YOU'LL DO

You’ll work to support the People Services Co-ordinator in ensuring the monthly payroll is processed and delivered on time with optimum accuracy, with the goal of achieving full proficiency within 18 months. Payroll is a constantly changing landscape so you must keep up to date with key changes including changes to legislation, guidance, or payroll software.

You’ll work closely with our payroll providers, ADP and other People Team members, to gather all data for importing monthly and make relevant checks to ensure all payments are calculated correctly and in line with business rules, policies and managed payroll guidelines, providing query resolution for colleagues and managers where necessary, maintaining confidentiality of employee information and pay records at all times.

The role requires interaction with internal and external stakeholders, including The People and Finance teams, and Government departments such as HMRC and The Pensions Regulator. The work is often highly pressured to deliver accurate outputs to tight timescales.

You’ll also support the administration of our pension and other benefit schemes. This will include working with third party providers to join and exit colleagues from relevant schemes and answering any queries regarding our benefit offerings.
- WHAT TO BRING

It’s essential you bring a growth mindset backed up by fantastic communication skills so you can collaborate and reflect on results with colleagues to feed learning and future action to ensure we learn from successes and failures and drive a high-performance culture throughout the team.

You’ll also need to be highly organised with the ability to work to demanding deadlines and have problem solving techniques in a variety of situations, taking ownership through to resolution and escalating complex issues where appropriate.

It’s imperative that you have the ability to exercise absolute integrity in respect of confidential matters at all times.

Excellent GCSE Qualifications or equivalent in English and Maths are essential and IT would be advantageous.
- WHAT WE OFFER IN RETURN

Datel is a successful tech and services business that is here to help you to achieve your full potential. Potential is more than just a word to us, it’s our purpose.

We help our customers realise their ambitions through creative Sage solutions. And every member of the Datel team is encouraged to thrive by us providing the support and broadest possible opportunities, within an aspirational, accessible, inclusive, and progressive culture.

Your apprenticeship will take a minimum of 21 months in partnership with our training provider, MBKB, using remote, on-line teaching and learning.

You will receive off the job training for a minimum of 20% of the time you are paid to work, with many activities counting towards the OTJ hours such as:

- Team meetings
- One-2-ones
- Shadowing a colleague
- Online learning
- Internal training

We offer an excellent benefits and support package including:

- 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays) that increases with service.
- A financial benefits package including pension, Life Cover of 4 x basic salary, and discounted shopping scheme.
- A health benefits package including access to Bupa, a health cash plan with money back towards the costs of optical and dental treatments, access to GPs and a 24 hour advice and information line.
- A cycle to work scheme.
- Access to Mental Health First Aiders.

We listen and want you to contribute to our future alongside contributing to yours - we regularly ask for your input and offer learning and development opportunities to build your knowledge and skills. We love to get together and have a calendar of social events to build connection and collaboration across the team. We also care about our community and work closely with Sage’s Foundation offering charity and volunteering opportunities throughout the year.
- ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Salary £21,225 per annum.

Hours of work are Monday - Friday 09.00 to 17.30 with one hour for lunch (unpaid), totalling 37.5 hours per week.

This will eventually be a hybrid working role (three days in the office, two working from home), but there is a requirement to complete a number of weeks office based full-time whilst settling in and during payroll processing periods.
