**Overall Responsibilities**
- Oversee Consultant and Clinical professional’s fitness to practise
- Co-ordinate complaints administration
- Support Governance functions and processes within the hospital
- Communicate Governance agenda and requirements to hospital stakeholders
- Statistical data collation, reporting and presentation
- Facilitation of regulatory inspections as required

**Specific Responsibilities**
- Ensure continuity between local and corporate governance strategies through familiarity with key corporate policies, national governance frameworks, Spire governance reports, CQC reports, and clinical regulation resources on the Spire Intranet
- Support Governance functions and processes within the hospital
- Ongoing review & dissemination of all corporate policies to ensure that Spire Roding hospital meets the standards required by Spire Healthcare and regulatory bodies
- Support of adverse event reporting processes, ensuring robust investigation and feedback across the hospital
- To facilitate and coordinate audit activities in order to comply with governance strategy and the requirements of NHS Contracts
- Monitor and drive the completion of actions and sharing of learning from adverse events, complaints, patient satisfaction, audit, hospital committees and relevant inspections
- Organise and attend meetings which contribute to Governance requirements, managing venue arrangements, agenda and minute taking.
- Dissemination of monthly Governance & policy updates to staff

**1. Monitor Consultant and Clinical professional’s fitness to practise**

Ensure appropriate monitoring of Consultant, Clinical Support Specialist’s and Clinical professional’s fitness to practise in line with appropriate corporate policies and regulatory requirements. Oversee and support compliance through database and Consultant appraisals and reviews

**2. **Communicate Governance agenda and requirements to hospital stakeholders**
- Communicate requirements of Governance agenda to hospital stakeholders including Senior Managers, Team Leaders, Staff, Consultants and Patients as required Provide support as required to investigations into Consultant and Clinical professional’s fitness to practice

**3. Statistical data collection and reporting**
- Develop systems for accurately collating and reporting on clinical and regulatory data and maintain those currently used as appropriate.
- Coordinate CQC inspection portfolio of evidence.
- Development and maintenance of ‘live’ governance report.

**4. Facilitation of regulatory inspections as required**
- Organise and deliver annual PLACE inspection
- Provide support and data to external inspections as required
- Support CQC and internal inspection process including preparation of staff

Qualification, training and experience

E Higher education

E Strong organisational skills with ability to prioritise workload and work under pressure in order to meet deadlines.

E Highly computer literate with advanced knowledge of MS Office

E Excellent attention to detail

E Effective communicator at all levels

E Highly proactive, a strong team player with strong customer service ethic and good interpersonal skills.

E Ability to work under own initiative with diplomacy, confidentiality and tact.

E Commitment to continuous quality improvement

E Experience of analysing and interpreting data and producing reports
