**Duties**:

- Provides Tier 2 technical support and resolve technology problems within a Signal Battalion Network Enterprise Center (NEC) and Desktop Support Service Division (DSSD).
- Conducts testing to ensure operability, efficiency, and compliance with existing procedures and regulations as needed.
- Analyzes equipment and software reliability and utilization reports for the Battalions desktop equipment and software systems to identify and correct problem areas and to establish computer and telecommunications performance levels.
- Prepares reports with suggestions for improvement.
- Coordinates with information generators/users to ascertain administrative information needs and determine changes required in automated systems or information requirements.
- Maintains technical proficiency by attending symposia, expositions, and meetings and reviewing current communications and computer literature.
- Troubleshoots printers, scanners, peripherals and resolves technical problems related to system access to network or server resources at the desktop level.

- One year trial/probationary period may be required.
- Applicants must comply with the Exceptional Family Member Program requirements as outlined in the DoD Instruction 1315.19.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This position requires the incumbent to obtain and maintain the appropriate Information Assurance certification in accordance with DoD 8570.01-M, Information Assurance Workforce Improvement Program, within 6 months of entry onto duty.
- Sustainment training is required as needed to keep the IA\IT professional proficient in their job duties. All individuals performing technical functions are required to sign a Privileged-Level Access Agreement and Non-Disclosure Agreement.
- A pre-placement medical examination is required.
- This position is located in an installation designated as walking installation: walking to various buildings and floors as needed.
- Must successfully pass urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter IAW AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program.
- The employee must maintain Stateside Drivers Licenses and obtain / maintain U.S. Military License (TMP) in USAREUR.
- The employee must be DoD 8570.01-M compliant within 6 months of occupying position; the preferred IA certification being Security + and preferred CE certification being CCNA.

**Specialized and Other Experience**: One year of specialized experience which includes:

- **1)** Experience interpreting information command policies that impact current systems and plans and
- **2)**Experience supporting and ensuring customer systems are correctly changed and updated for operation.
- AND
- Experience demonstrating each of the following four competencies:

Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: completing thorough and accurate work independently, even in the most difficult or stressful situations; occasionally reviewing work completed by others.
- (2) Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Examples of IT-related experience demonstrating this competency include: resolving routine and non-routine problems, questions, or complaints; developing and maintaining strong, mutually supportive working relationships with customers; conducting evaluation of support to determine quality of services and customer satisfaction, and recommending procedural changes based on customer need or changes in policy and/or regulation.
- (3) Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately.
