Russell Taylor is working on behalf of our well-known client.

We are recruiting for a Technical Support Supervisor.

**QUALIFICATIONS**

**Educated to GCSE level in English and Maths or equivalent. Must hold a current ACS Qualification.**

**MONDAY TO FRIDAY**

**8.5 HOURS PER DAY**

**SALARY PENDING EXPERIENCE FROM £38K TO £45K.**

**JOB SUMMARY**

Your role is to offer technical assistance and guidance to the Dwelling Engineer team and administration planning team, whilst supervising the operatives under your remit. The role requires a good knowledge of building maintenance services/engineering associated with repairs and installation works, as well as experience within social housing contracts and construction or building services industry.

Day to day will consist of communicating with your Line Report and going through ‘problem jobs’ that have arisen on the contract. Attending the properties personally or following up with the engineer to rectify the issue that provides an end point and satisfactory solution. The continued development of engineers within your team is also an essential part of the Technical Supervisor’s role to enable them to attend and resolve issues in the first visit where possible.

Responsible for the development and quality assessment of new starters, apprentices and trainees to ensure they are fully aware and understand current standards, procedures and company policies.

Monitor training requirements of Apprentices to ensure they are competent with all technical aspects required for their qualification and to assist with the transition to becoming a fully qualified engineer capable of working independently.
- Performance manages operatives to maximise efficiency.
- Offer technical support to operatives by telephone and on-site where required.
- Assist the Dwelling Team with capacity and resource allocation requirements to ensure that the operatives remain productive without compromising performance.
- Analysis of performance statistics, examine reports and investigate failures to reduce non-conformities with the aim of increasing our customer satisfaction and 1st time fix measurements.
- Provide training on the fault-finding skills that are key to diagnosing issues with HIUs and affiliated plant.
- Analyse post inspections to the contractual requirements, report on findings, and investigate/ resolve negative reports and failures.

Liaise with purchasing to produce reports of high value material orders and examine the works to validate and produce chargeable orders where necessary.
- Handling stage 2 complaints as per company procedure and maintain records for performance monitoring.
- Production costs and quotes for jobs where required using the company’s IT system and following contractual procedure and requirements.
- To undertake any other duties as required by the Company from time to time, if these duties are of a greater level of responsibility or skill than those required in the post, then full training and appropriate supervision will be provided.

Conform to the Company ISO quality standards and working practices.

**PERFORMANCE**
- Multiple visits jobs are to be thoroughly examined and investigations carried out to analyse issues and offer reports on the findings.
- Carry out trend analysis of the engineers and determine their most suitable roles within the team.
- Assist with regular toolbox talks and promote a better understanding of the elements under suggestion.
- You will attend to site in emergency situations to offer support and report back to management and the team.
- Follow the framework of performance management and monitoring, championing best practice and a high-level performance culture throughout the Company

Liaise with both internal and external contacts in a friendly and helpful manner in order to uphold and strengthen the values of the client.

**KEY SKILLS**
- Knowledge of mechanical and electrical components associated with repairs and installation works.
- Knowledge of construction or building services sector.
- Experience in working to deadlines in a busy office environment.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to work with people in a variety of circumstances and from various backgrounds.
- Possess a thorough, organised and detail-oriented approach to work.
- Able to plan, prioritise, and coordinate, multi-task and complete work assignments within deadlines.
