**Remuneration**:Range £25000 - £28800 per annum (Prorated) - depending on experience

**Status**:Permanent (After successful completion of 3-month probationary period)

**Hours**:37 hours per week, Monday to Friday

**Job Purpose**

Reporting to Management to provide high quality financial and procurement services through the effective and efficient delivery of finance and procurement processes across two busy GP Practice Partnerships.

Working with our appointed Accountants and Senior Management Teams to ensure that all financial transactions are delivered accurately within deadlines and remain compliant with legislation and best practice.

**Main Duties Responsibilities**:
The post holder will be expected to undertake all the normal duties associated with a Finance Officer role including:

- Financial co-ordination and proactive liaison with external partners and accountants acting for the organisation e.g. monthly payroll delivery, annual accounts reconciliation, financial queries, etc.
- Working with the Management to ensure that suppliers are meeting contractual requirements and are providing value for money whilst maintaining service quality.
- Accurately maintaining, updating, and reconciling NHS, ICB and GP Practice financial systems and accounting software e.g. Payedoc, NHS Pensions, PCSE, IRIS, CQRS, Accountant’s software package, etc.
- Maintaining income & expenditure trackers and flagging up any concerns to Management as appropriate.
- Collating and processing monthly payroll & pensions.
- Forecasting of financial income and expenditure.
- Ensuring that all invoices and payments are reconciled and processed accurately, within deadline.
- Being the main point of contact for any finance queries and updating Management with any risks or issues.
- Liaising with Management to ensure all contractual services, including enhanced services are identified and claims for payment submitted within time allowed.
- Monitoring and reconciling all NHS England/ICB statements.
- Set up and run searches for all claims for payment on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis, or as required.
- Responsible for reconciling payments with claims.
- Undertake searches and audits as required.
- Monitor and forward plan procurement and contract renewals ensuring value for money for all practice /organisation related purchases with the support of Management.
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with external suppliers, contractors and managers within the organisation to ensure the effective delivery of a professional finance service.
- Reporting to the Management team monthly.
- Provide advice to colleagues as to viable alternatives supported by cost benefits analysis where appropriate.
- Encourage a culture of continuous improvement by ensuring of deliver best practice reviews to ensure service excellence.

This is not an exhaustive list, and it is expected that this role will develop.

**Qualifications**:

- 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at Grade C or above including English and Mathematics (essential)
- NVQ Level 4 (Association of Accounting Technicians) in Accounting Knowledge or equivalent (desirable)

**Experience**:

- Finance: 1 year (preferred)

**Salary**: £25,000.00-£28,800.00 per year
