We need someone who **loves** to know about all areas of the business not just Purchasing. This role will need someone who enjoys working in Excel, loves to look at data and wants to help the company achieve their goal by digging in wherever required. Day to day you will be analysing our stock holding, placing orders, managing our business partners to make sure they reach their SLA’s and supporting our Customer Experience and Sales teams.
This is a full time role, working Monday to Friday for a total of 37.5 hours per week. This is a home-based role however on occasions you may be required to visit our offices.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Lead negotiation of the purchase of goods and consumables for both UK and Irish sites, including non-sales purchases
- Manage stock portfolio, including but not limited to forecasting, planning, and stock investigations to ensure stock is in the right place, at the right time
- Manage all supplier interactions including negotiations on price and service, and database of suppliers
- Manage our product database to ensure all relevant data is stored
- Manage new product specifications and liaise with sales department regarding product launch
- Manage our quality control procedures to ensure that products meet the standard set by the business and that all quarantine actions are completed
- Assist wherever necessary in ensuring daily and weekly purchasing plans and duties are completed
- Ensure compliance, customer & company requirements are met at best value
- Track and report key functional metrics to reduce expenses and improve purchasing effectiveness
- Maintains a high standard of customer service by immediately attending and resolving customer needs.
- Assist in developing strategic plans for the purchasing department to enable management to drive for results to meet goals
- Continually investigates and introduces process improvement measures
- Utilisation of systems, software and IT to increase efficiencies

**REQUIREMENTS**:

- Experience in SME businesses, working collaboratively with multiple departments
- Passion to work in Purchasing and help to achieve core function but also be driven to help others solve their issues
- A strong understanding of purchasing and supply chain systems, LEAN principles, TCO methodology and ERP systems. Supply Chain or similar qualification desirable
- Must be confident with Excel and Outlook
- Strong attention to detail and organisation skills a must, including recording details
- Strong commercial and contractual negotiation skills
- Basic math proficiency is a must.
