We are looking for dynamic and inspirational Child Care Workers to join our already established team, to work in our **“Good” children’s homes,** Children resource centre. We support children and Young People across **Allerdale **and **Copeland**. The service provides support to Children and Young People who have a **learning disability** and other associated needs **0 to 18 years, **by ensuring their independence, choice rights and inclusion through the enhancement of their personal, domestic and social needs. We deliver the highest standard of care in line with Children Home regulations and Early years foundation.

**Day to Day**:

- To work as a team for the best possible outcome for each individual child.
- Work in a creative way, pushing boundaries to promote inclusion and resilient
- To be aware of service statement of purpose and to uphold its standards at all time
- To work as part of a team to unsure Outstanding care and support is delivered
- To work different shifts, Waking night, variety of shifts from 2 hours up to 12.5 hours in variety of locations over 7 days a week, 52 weeks of the year.
- To provide personal care and support to children and young people in accordance with their Care Plans
- To ensure a safe, caring, positive and stimulating home environment for Children and Young People and follow Intensive Interaction and Positive Behaviour Support Strategies
- Be constantly aware of the needs of children, supporting individual child with 1:1 / 2:1 where required.
- To contribute to a planned programme of activities suitable to the age range of children and Young People in conjunction with other staff, Children and family members
- To ensure the service is of a high quality environment to meet the needs of individual children from differing cultures and religious backgrounds, and stages of development and support each with their likes/dislikes.
- To support children and young people with their complex health needs / challenging behaviour and provide comfort, warmth to an ill / unwell child
- To enable and support Children and Young People to develop, maintain their skills and fulfilled lives e.g. cooking, cleaning, shopping, accessing community facilities, Swimming, bowling, sports etc. Arts and crafts, walking, activate activities and daily tasks
- Support children and Young People with all their chosen activities even when it take us as a support worker out of our comfort zone.
- To be flexible within the service Settings. Be prepared to help where needed, including to undertake certain domestic jobs within the Setting, e.g. preparation of snack meals, making meals, cleaning and completing daily checks.
- To promote dignity and respect ensuring Children and Young People have choice and control
- To be aware of risks to Children and Young People, follow risk assessments and promote a positive risk taking culture, and positivity supporting to access new opportunities
- To promote excellent health and safety practices at all times within our residential home, children resource centre and when supporting Children and Young People in the community.
- To administer medication to Children and Young People in accordance with procedures and training
- To ensure written records for Children and Young People are completed to a high standard.
- To enable and encourage social activities both in both settings and within the local community
- To escort Children and Young People as required and drive service vehicles where a valid license is held
- Any other reasonable duties relating to the Children and Young Person needs
- To be Patience, be reliability, hardworking and, committed to support children and young people.

**Salary**: £11.50-£12.00 per hour

Expected hours: 4 - 39 per week
