This is a unique and exciting opportunity for an experienced administration professional to join the research workforce at University Hospitals of Leicester. As a core management team administrator you will primarily provide general administrative support for the new BRC Training and Capacity Development Platform and BRC management team.

This is a 0.6WTE post, primarily based at Leicester Glenfield Hospital and Leicester General Hospital. Some travel may be required between sites and as required for attending meetings, conferences, training and off-site student events/lectures.

For this role you must be able to attend the office in person.

In order to undertake the work efficiently the post holder will:

- Be efficient, meticulous and able to manage their own workload
- Have excellent communication skills with all disciplines, including trainees, immediate colleagues, the wider BRC team and other internal areas and external partners
- Be flexible in work practices and time, and be able to work with little direct supervision whilst recognising own limitations
- Use own initiative and can prioritise own workload
- Have relevant administration experience and specialist knowledge in the area of clinical research and or postgraduate training

NIHR Leicester Biomedical Research Centre (BRC)

The NIHR Leics BRC is a partnership between the University of Leicester, University Hospitals of Leics NHS Trust, Loughborough University and the University Hospitals of Northamptonshire NHS Group. It has been funded £26.1 million to carry out pioneering research into medical advancements into illnesses linked to respiratory and infectious diseases, cardiovascular diseases, and type 2 diabetes, personalised cancer prevention and treatment, Environment - looking at how the environment impacts on long term health conditions - and Using data to better understand multiple long term health conditions and factors specific to the health of ethnic minority populations. Chronic kidney disease and the consequences of inactivity will continue to push boundaries of knowledge in clinical medicine.

This will include, diary management, arranging meetings and taking notes/minutes, planning events, liaising with students and other members of the BRC training and Capacity Development Team, supporting the core BRC team with collecting training and capacity development information for annual reporting, plus general finance administration support.
