Head of People and Culture

Fast growing retail business seeks a Head of People and Culture for their business.
Reporting to the CFO, this person will lead on the delivery of the people service ensuring a seamless, brilliant and consistent day to day people operations. You will have responsibility for ensuring delivery of all operational people activities. Your rolewill be to define the processes, system needs, service, KPI’s and MI for all core people activity in line with policies.
The role is broad, busy, and hands-on with no two days the same. With a focus on process improvement, you will always be one step ahead, foreseeing things that need to be done and focusing on continuous improvement to ensure that our team add value, savetime, and make things simple.
Job requirements
**K ey responsibilities**
- As the main contact for the People & Culture Team, you will provide day to day guidance, advising managers on policy and process, with a natural coaching style that puts people first.
- You will help to develop and deliver workshops that will inform, inspire and upskill people managers.
- Be able to turn your hand to support wider services including talent attraction, comms & engagement, wellbeing and learning & development.
- Oversee all cyclical people activity, constantly seeking to improve systems.
- Own and develop the onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure everyone is set up for success and has access to the necessary tools and resources to deliver their best work.
- Build quality reporting and insight to influence a data-driven people approach, with responsibility for weekly and monthly reporting and analysis.
- Map, oversee and improve operational processes throughout the employee lifecycle using data and insight to identify the touchpoints that will improve employee experience.
- Drive diligence across areas of risk and compliance, putting in place audits, frameworks and governance.
- Drive: be forward-thinking, proactive and able to work autonomously, with lots of initiative, energy and personal motivation.
- Attention to detail; pay attention to the detail, and you’ll care about getting things right the first time.
- Ownership - able to spot opportunities to simplify and improve processes to drive better results.

- Proven HR and administration experience in a fast-paced, high-growth or progressive environment
- Experience of cloud based HRIS/technology.
- Proven leader and coach, able to set and achieve performance standards.
- Sound understanding of ER, employment law and people related legislation.
- Forward-thinking and able to troubleshoot independently, with lots of initiative, energy and personal motivation.
- Clear, succinct and influential written and verbal communication skills.
- Proactive, reliable and able to deliver to tight deadlines.
- Previous exposure to payroll and a general understanding of basic payroll principles and processes is desirable but not essential.
