Whittington Health is a high performing Integrated Care Organisation that provides services across North Central London. We are looking for someone who is committed to our ICARE values and is passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of the local population.

The main objective of this role is to manage the delivery of Whittington Health’s Children and Young People’s (CYP) services within local boroughs. This role is focused on delivery of the Speech and Language Therapy Service in Camden and the Therapy Service in Barnet. The postholder is responsible for leading the services, working closely with key stakeholders and ensuring high quality provision.

The postholder will represent WH, working to ensure that services are integrated with other services in local boroughs, with effective joined up pathways in place. The postholder will provide senior leadership across a range of services, influencing service design and delivery with partner organisations. The role will include a focus on delivery of the CYP annual Business Plan, including delivery of agreed performance and financial targets. In addition the postholder will contribute to the strategic direction of the Children & Young People’s ICSU, developing services in response to changing needs and priorities

Leadership, Financial and Performance Management
- To provide leadership to the ICSUs staff, ensuring clear communication of the ICSU values, vision, priorities and expectations to ensure the engagement of teams to deliver services of the highest
- To ensure the delivery of high quality, safe and effective services in line with CQC and other national requirements; taking immediate remedial action where gaps or inconsistencies are
- To establish a strong learning culture across the service through peer review, regular feedback and frequent visible leadership with front-line
- Exercising delegated authority on behalf of the Director of Operations, the post holder will provide leadership to resolve day-to-day management issues within the ICSU.
- To manage the operating budget effectively, remain within the allocate resources for the financial year, including budget setting, projections and management across sub specialities. This includes appropriate understanding and implementation of Trust standing financial instructions
- To manage the budget and lead on the development and delivery of productivity and efficiency savings within the service.
- Take a leading role in the Children and Young People’s ICSU to improve throughput and deliver significant productivity and efficiency gains and to maximise income
- To hold service leads, team leaders and lead clinicians to account for delivery of their objectives through regular performance review
- Ensure effective processes and procedures are in place to monitor and track performance within the service
- To proactively monitor complex financial and performance information/targets and ensure they are maintained, taking action where necessary to address variances and providing appropriate input and challenge to clinical and business corrective plans where
- To investigate complaints as appropriate under the procedure and ensure action is taken to address issues of concern and prevent reoccurrence of similar
- Ensure that environmental standards are appropriate for safe & clean care delivery.
- To develop and manage the implementation of systems, control processes and risk management arrangements to support monitoring of compliance with clinical governance standards, decontamination requirements, other Trust-wide policies and processes and best practice requirements
- To work with the governance lead to develop systems, control processes and risk management arrangements that ensure full compliance with internal and external governance procedures including a joint governance structure across partner organisations
- Prepare written and oral progress reports setting out progress in relation to the work and learning of the Service.
- To ensure efficient and responsive administrative services are in place across services to support front-line delivery
- To have delegated responsibility for a range of key ICSU-wide areas as agreed with the Director of Operations, e.g. Emergency
