Our Rail client based in Doncaster are looking for an experienced Rail Project Manager for a contract position.

**Must be from a Rail background**

**Job Purpose**
To
1. Manage the successful delivery of projects for the company, safely, on time and to budget. (R)
2. Control and monitor the delivery of the project working closely with the Operations, Engineering, Quality and Safety departments to ensure key objectives are met and stakeholders needs are met. (A)
3. Plan and monitor the effective delivery of the project with the Operations team, ensuring the correct level of resource and competence is deployed to deliver the work in line with the project plan. (A)
4. Maintain control of the project budget, working with the Project Controller and Finance team to monitor and report performance. (A)
5. Report Monthly Sales figures and Cost to Complete for the Project(s). (R)
6. Ensure that the Safety of the Railway and the safety of our employees is protected at all times and is promoted as central to our delivery philosophy, (A)
7. Manage the relationship with the customers project lead and develop a strong working relationship. (R)
**Principle Responsibilities & Accountabilities**
**Safety**
1. Promote the Safety of the Railway (SotR) to ensure that our product does not endanger the travelling public, train crew, trackside workers or other stakeholders. (R)
2. Promote and actively develop the Safety Culture within the company. (A)
3. Ensure self and all required personnel complete enabling safety processes to reduce injuries and near misses e.g. SBOs, Near Miss reporting, Deep Water Horizon as nominated by Line Manager/Director. (A)
4. Communicate and enforce Safe systems of work. (A)
5. If required participate in Safety Audits and Investigations. (A)
**Quality**
1. Deliver the Project Risk Identification Process (PRIP) for the allotted project(s) to ensure that product risk is being delivered and that all "A" actions are closed before the vehicle/product leaves the facility. (R)
2. Ensure that the configuration control documentation for each vehicle/product is correct. (A)
3. Ensure that the project supply team are adhering to the WRL QAP for the management of suppliers and sub-contractors. (A)
4. Ensure via an audit program WRL Quality systems are followed in the delivery of the Project. (A)
**5**. Ensure self and all required personnel complete enabling quality improvement processes e.g. QBOs, QNMs/PQs, DWH. (A)

**Delivery**
2. Manage the delivery of design deliverables and ensure that a suitable analysis tool (Earned Value) is deployed to meet the delivery schedule (R)
3. Establish Core Team reporting to ensure the Project Team is kept abreast of issues affecting production and that an adequate reporting structure exists to escalate any issues.(R)
4. Participate in the weekly Plan-Do-Review (PDR) meeting with the Commercial Director to escalate/address any issues affecting performance on the project.(C)
5. Plan for major elements of contract change using the T-Minus approach to ensure our readiness. (R)
6. Report delivery metrics both internally and externally. (A)
7. Ensure the dispatch process for vehicles/products is adhered to and that vehicles/products only leave the facility when safe to do so. (A)
8. Deploy visual management tools to monitor delivery and communicate issues to the Core Team. (R)

**Cost**

1. Manage costs to agreed EAC (R)
2. Produce a quantitative Project Risk Register and actively manage the mitigation of Risk across the project. Deploy mitigations to prevent margin erosion.(A)
4. Produce Monthly Sales Reports and deliver monthly and quarterly Project Reviews with the Exec Team. (R)
5. Drive Project efficiencies and improvements through the implementation of Lean or Kaizen events to improve project efficiency. (A)
6. Provide feedback from lessons learned process to tendering team for inclusion in future bids. (A)
**People**

1. Communicates and shares knowledge effectively with all departmental staff. (A)
2. Ensure that Project Visualisation Boards are current and used to lead daily project performance reviews. (R)
3. Manage the operational succession planning process for your department. (R)
4. Develop the team the Core Team philosophy. (R)
5. Build the team mentality and ensure that the team are focused on ensuring the success of the project and developing themselves. (A)
6. Develop and own the skills needs analysis for the department. (A)
7. Ensures understanding of the relevant company HR processes within local department. (A)
