- Job title: Under Training, Traction and Rolling Stock Maintenance Fitter
- Job location: Stoke on Trent**Salary**: Under Training £11.79 per hour. Rising to £12.73 or £23,834.00 plus night shift allowance of £93.90 p/w on completion of 12 weeks training
- Excellent earnings potential in excess of ££29,000 pa with shift allowance and a small amount of overtime
- Benefits: Excellent Benefits Package, to include enhanced pension and 33 days pa leave allowance
- Shifts: Monday to Thursday, 4-day week. Days Monday to Friday during training
- Nights: Monday to Thursday, on completion of training
- Hours per week: 36 hours per week plus available overtime on completion of training
- Duration: Contract to permanent
- Start date: Training dates commence August and then every 4 weeks through to December
- Industries considered: This is an open book but proof of basic mechanical skills and tool familiarity is highly beneficial however not essentialClient Summary:

- A rare and exciting opportunity for aspiring mechanics to train and ultimately work on Rolling Stock in Stoke on Trent.- We are therefore providing a rare opportunity for over 30 aspiring Fitters to train and commence work, to include on job training and mentoring
- The role will commence on £11.79 per hour whilst under training, this will commence with 2 weeks detailed engineering tutorage before proceeding on the shop floor to put this new found knowledge in to practise for a further 10 weeks. During this time you will be mentored and monitored with success at the end leading to a permanent opportunity with the chance to earn up to £29,000.00 per year based on basic, overtime and shift allowance.
- All those completing training will earn the educational equivalent of an NVQ Level 1 in Engineering Competencies
- This is an excellent opportunity to gain technical access in to the Rail / Rolling Stock Industry whilst working for a highly regarded, World Leading Manufacturer of Rolling Stock Freight Vehicles.Person Profile/Experience:

- DO YOU KNOW WHAT A SCREWDRIVER, A SPANNER OR A TORQUE WRENCH IS AND WHAT THEY ARE USED FOR?

- You will be able to show an aptitude for undertaking numerous responsibilities as this is a varied role which will include the full strip, refurbishment and rebuild of Rolling Stock Rail Wagons and their associate bogies, axles and wheel sets

- Familiar and comfortable with using basic hand tools
- Some experience in a mechanically biased role, would be advantageous but not essential
