Are you passionate about keeping children, young people and other vulnerable groups safe from harm? Do you want to be part of a small team running a ground breaking experiential education facility, which aims to do just that?

Safety Central, Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service’s showpiece safety and life skills education centre, opened in 2017 and aims to be a beacon for accident prevention and the promotion of good citizenship and safe and independent living. The exciting role of Operations Officer is key to achieving this goal.

Using your excellent organisational and people skills, you will ensure visitors have a first-class experience from the moment they arrive to the moment they leave. This means ensuring enough high-quality, motivated volunteer rangers are on hand to guide groups around the learning zones, equipment is in good working order, scenery and set dressing is well-maintained and that learning resources are in place.

Primarily you will co-ordinate a targeted volunteer ranger recruitment campaign and manage our Ranger Academy programme for their induction, training and development. You will be the key point of contact for volunteer rangers, ensuring they grow in number and that they continue to be engaged, developed and retained.

Working as part of a small, friendly team you will also support the Safety Central Manager in implementing procedures for ensuring visitors and volunteers stay safe while at the centre.

You will also be expected to help co-ordinate group visits and other events along with other members of the centre’s team, so the ability to work evenings and weekends will be required.
