**Role**:
The Head of Operations and Strategy is responsible for overseeing all business activities carried out by the company including the overall management of staff, ensuring that performance management targets are met and setting budgets for various parts of the business. For this role they are also responsible for HR Management including compliance with all government legislation and raising company standards. They will lead on the implementation and monitoring of the Annual Strategic Plan which outlines the company’s goals and KPI targets. They are also responsible for generating business growth through new income streams and implementing an effective marketing strategy for lead generation.

**Duties**:

- To identify new business opportunities - including new markets, growth areas, trends, customers, products and services
- To lead on the implementation of the Annual Strategic Plan, completing Quarterly Reviews with the Senior Leadership Team to monitor progress against organisation goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)
- To improve lead generation, setting the administration team relevant KPI targets
- To engage with external stakeholders and work in partnership with them to raise standards for the organisation
- To determine, negotiate and agree on in-house quality procedures, standards and specifications
- To line manage the Head of Service Delivery, Head of Curriculum, Head of Administration and Head of Finance and Executive PA; completing their supervision sessions, setting tasks/projects, monitoring their performance and completing their annual appraisal
- To have a range of skills and abilities necessary to set goals for staff directly line managed covering areas in admin/hr, curriculum, pupil wellbeing and behaviour, safeguarding and marketing
- To have an excellent understanding of effective motivational leadership, interpersonal and problem-solving skills and to embed this in daily practice
- To understand the needs of customers through qualitative feedback forms and develop strategies to respond effectively with a plan of how to meet these
- To think strategically - seeing the bigger picture and setting long-term aims and objectives in order to develop and improve the business
- To work strategically - carrying out necessary planning in order to implement operational changes
- To draw up client contracts and Service Levels Agreements, making sure they are fit for purpose
- To have a good understanding of the businesses’ multi-services being offered and be able to advise others about them
- To ensure staff are on board with the organisation’s mission, visions and values, and that they understand the need for change and what is required of them
- To plan effectively for change management, ensuring staff are made aware of why changes are happening and how they align with the company’s mission
- To effectively carry out succession planning, ensuring roles and duties are covered appropriately and the team understands lines of reporting
- To identify key areas where staff need training and to arrange external training where appropriate
- To lead on the implementation of the Marketing Strategy, including developing the brand, social media presence, web design and appearance in print media
- To liaise with the Finance Officer to monitor targets for profit and the deployment of human resources
- To direct objectives to maximise profitability
- To seek ways of improving the way the business operates including gaining feedback from employees
- To represent and raise awareness of the organisation by attending seminars, conferences and events where appropriate etc
- To keep abreast of trends and changes in the business world
- To create professional job descriptions and position profiles
- To take the lead in Safer Recruitment, ensuring equal opportunities and fair process
- To understand the importance of human resources management and liaise with the HR manager to ensure that recruitment, induction, appraisal and disciplinary procedures are carried out in line with current legislation
- To recognise the importance of and promote good employee relations
- To understand how to complete performance reviews, behaviour evaluation and implement frameworks for behaviour
- To act as a catalyst for change and improvement in performance and quality, making sure the organisation is in compliance with Health and Safety Law, Employment Law and other pieces of legislation relevant to the business
- To improve policy and procedures for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion so that the organisation is demonstrating best practice
