The St. Christopher School is a special school for pupils aged 3 - 19. We work with a wide range of pupils with Autistic Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, communication & interaction difficulties and a range of learning difficulties.

Since September 2017, The St. Christopher School joined SEN Trust Southend, which is a Multi-Academy trust. This gives way to a number of opportunities to work cooperatively across St. Nicholas School, Lancaster School and Kingsdown School.

We are seeking to appoint a Learning Support Assistant to work with mixed groups of pupils whose main area of special educational need is Autism with moderate to severe learning difficulties.

Our Learning Support Assistants must be enthusiastic, hard-working and show a genuine interest in working with pupils with special educational needs. They must be able to empower and inspire the learners they work with and be committed to the whole school teamwork ethos. The school provides access to high quality training for staff.

**Salary**: Local Government scale point 6-12 (£11.42-£12.73/hr)

Fixed term contract initially - 31.5 hours per week, 39 worked weeks & 6/7 weeks holiday pay.

- Leigh-on-Sea, SS9 4AW: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

- Special education: 1 year (preferred)
