- Pernod Ricard UK, which markets, sells and distributes our products in the UK market- Chivas Brothers, the largest brand company in the Group, responsible for the production and management of our award-winning Scotch whisky portfolio- Pernod Ricard Global Travel Retail, the global and EMEA home of the group’s duty free, air travel and cruises business.
We are an organisation of 2,000 employees in the UK, headquartered in London, in a brand-new office designed with sustainability, ‘conviviality’ and collaboration in mind. We also have offices in Scotland and various distilleries and production sites across the UK from Plymouth to London to Speyside.
Your new team
As part of the Global Traveller Engagement Team, and reporting to the Global Traveller Engagement Director, you will be responsible for accelerating Pernod Ricard Global Travel Retail ability to drive conversion by developing sales staff performance and elevating the traveller experience along the omnichannel journey.
The Global Head of Retail Training will be responsible to develop the strategy to drive retail excellence and sales staff performance globally supporting the achievement of business objectives by developing innovative blended learning programmes and coaching.
They will exhibit a true passion for developing sales staff and also be responsible for leading and managing both a development team and regional training manager for key business units.
This exciting role requires a dynamic and experienced training professional who has a solid background in managing a team, is consumer centric and knows how to drive retail excellence through learning.
Your unique contribution
You will have 3 main areas of responsibility:
Training strategy: Build global retail training strategy to support business objectives, retail management and drive conversion.
- Develop, implement, and lead the global retail training strategy
- Develop strong relationships with retailers to drive training partnerships
- Support seasonal retailer strategy meetings and maintain regular interim meetings reviewing performance and recommending actions as needed.
- Work with other functions to create and achieve brand strategy and objectives
- Achieve retail budget while at all times ensuring plans are executed with the vision of long term success
- Analyse and work with field team to put actions in place to drive results and maximize opportunities
- Set and achieve the targets and manage the collection of CRM and VIP data
- Support seasonal retailer strategy meetings and maintain regular interim meetings reviewing performance and recommending actions as needed.
- Work with the Field team to Influence future retailer initiatives; ensuring the brands maximizes all available opportunities
Learning programmes: Design and manage innovative and engaging blended learning programmes.
- Design innovative training content leveraging best touchpoints in blended learning
- Optimize and manage LMS worldwide
- Drive increased learner engagement and advocacy for Pernod Ricard Brands
- Drive engagement of digital learning and global communications via learning app
- Monitor training impact according to KPIs, feedback shop floor insights and opportunities to the broader business
- Keep up to date with latest retail and education trends to ensure modern and engaging education, as well as retail excellence
Develop and manage training team: description of the responsibility Develop and manage global training team across markets including Asia, EMEA and Americas.
- Lead and manage the Retail Training Teams across Global Travel Retail
- Coach and mentor development team and regional team members
- Analyse and work with field team to put actions in place to drive results and maximize opportunities.
Who you’ll be working with
Internally, you’ll work with the global Marketing team, as well as the local marketing teams in markets including Asia, EMEA and Americas.
Externally, your contacts will be agencies and suppliers.
