A fantastic opportunity has arisen in line with expansion of the service to appointment a trauma focused CBT trained therapist. The post holders will be required to provide Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT) and if qualified EMDR for appropriate children and young people in accordance with NICE guidelines. Ideally, you will have experience of delivering therapeutic support to children who are supported by children’s social care.

We are looking for someone with the clinical skills to enable them to work with developmental trauma and other complex mental health problems including attachment difficulties, loss and a wide variety of presenting issues. Delivery will include both direct individual work with children and young people, foster carer support sessions and consultation to the professional network around the child. You will have the opportunity to work both face to face and using digital technology.

The post provides an opportunity to work as part of a large team of highly experienced and skilled psychological therapists working with an extensive range of NICE-recommended and evidence-based therapies.

Regular clinical/case management supervision and reflective practice will be provided, as well as access to continuing professional development. The applicants must have excellent communication/interpersonal skills, be able to work autonomously, as well as within a team.
- Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling and/or Psychotherapy.
- Hold additional CBT Qualifications, ideally TF-CBT.
- Experience of working with local authorities.
- Experience of undertaking State of Mind Assessments, which include a detailed clinical formulation and set of recommendations.
- Registered/Accredited Membership with BACP / NCS (or equivalent)
- Telephone and Face to face sessional delivery experience
- Able to travel occasionally for on-site CIS support.
- Experience of writing psychological reports to commissioning organisations
- Previous experience working in a counselling team setting
- Computer literate essential
- The ability to work as part of a team but also autonomously.
