- **Work hours**: 36 hours per weekThe pandemic created significant new challenges for many unpaid carers and young adult carers (16 - 25 years) were particularly affected socially, emotionally and academically. Thanks to a three-year continuation grant from the Henry Smith Foundation, we are looking for a new project officer to support these young people to make a smoother transition into adulthood.Our well-established Supported Transition programme offers intensive individual support and training to help young adult carers (16 years +) make a smoother transition into adulthood and to prevent them from becoming NEET. The service currently supports their personal development and provides a range of training and other opportunities to aid access to volunteering, further education and employment opportunities, as well as a diverse social activity programme, peer and emotional support.We are seeking a skilled, adaptable and self-motivated individual with a proven track record in youth work and the ability to effectively engage with young people and develop positive relationships.The post-holder will be required to attend a regular evening youth club plus occasional weekend work for which time off in lieu will be given. The post is based in Uxbridge with borough-wide travel.
