Responsible to the Home Support Team Leader in providing a gardening service for elderly people living within the boundaries of Stafford Borough.

**AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY**

**MAIN DUTIES**

1. **Direct Services**

1.1 To assess the viability of requests for gardening jobs.

1.2 To carry out risk assessments on new gardens.

1.3 Service a minimum of fourteen gardens per week.

1.4 To ensure all equipment is kept and maintained and that fuel is available when needed.

1.5 Contribute to the prevention and management of untoward incidents such as accidents, misuse of equipment etc.

1.6 Use appropriate communication skills for the benefit of clients and their carers.

1.7 Work within the framework of the Health & Safety at Work Act.

1.8 Other duties as and when identified by the Home Support Team Leader

2. **Administration**

2.1 To submit on a weekly basis completed worksheets and report of any problems

2.2 To liaise and work with other organisations on gardening projects

2.3 Ensure all policies and procedures are followed

3. **Financial**

3.1 To collect and keep records of any money collected from clients

3.2 Assist in controlling stock, equipment and materials

4. **Marketing**

4.1 Assist in marketing all services of Age UK Stafford & District

**General Information**

The post holder is required to attend and contribute to team meetings, supervision and appraisal sessions and attend training sessions relevant to the role.
