**Domestic Violence Homicide Review Officer**:
Job description

Part Time / 30 Hours Per Week / Fixed Term For 18 Months Due To Funding

Play a key role in reducing the risk of deaths related to domestic abuse in Leicester.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join Leicester’s Safeguarding Board Office team to support the Community Safety Partnership to maximise learning and help to improve local practice. The team work closely with other agencies such as police, health, and probation to have a collaborative approach to reducing and tackling domestic and sexual abuse.

You’ll have access to an office base in the city centre but in the main will be working remotely. This is a part-time, fixed term post working 30 hours per week between Monday and Friday (working pattern to be agreed). The role may have the potential to become permanent in the future.

**What you’ll be doing**

You’ll lead and manage the local domestic homicide review process in line with statutory guidance and local protocol. Working with independent chairs and authors and local agencies, you’ll undertake domestic homicide reviews collating sensitive and detailed information and tracking progress. This will involve attending and chairing complex multi-agency meetings. You’ll support the local DHR subgroup to review progress against all DHR related activity in Leicester and directly support learning from local and national reviews through delivering training and presentations and developing other materials.

**What you'll need**

Passionate about learning from review processes and improving the response to domestic abuse, you’ll have knowledge of safeguarding practice and experience of report writing, and policy formulation. Using a high level of organisation and interpersonal skills, you’ll be able to effectively carry out multi-agency work at an individual and system level as well as build and maintain strong relationships with partners. With the ability to think strategically, analyse complex information and communicate clearly, you’ll ensure the Community Safety Partnership delivers its statutory responsibilities around domestic homicide reviews in an efficient and co-ordinated manner.

**What we can offer you**

As well as the satisfaction of helping to improve thousands of lives across Leicester, you can look forward to a work environment that encourages a healthy work/life balance. You’ll enjoy generous annual leave, membership of the Local Government Pension Scheme and the option of flexible working. We’ll also give you the chance to develop your skills and expertise with a variety of training and development opportunities. In addition, you can choose from a number of flexible benefits, including, discounts on city buses and trains.
