We are looking for a talented Management Accountant to join our dynamic Finance team and play a key role in providing a high quality management accounting service to CQC.

You will play a leading role in supporting our Change Directorate, providing financial expertise and support to a range of budget holders. You will be responsible in providing accurate revenue and capital financial management information including forecastsand reports.

**Accountabilities**:
Supporting with the development of the management accountancy input to CQC’s financial strategy.

Assisting with the development of the management accounting frameworks and operational plans in support of the overall finance strategy and ensures the effective operation of these.

Managing the economy of CQC activities in a business unit to identify potential cost savings and to maximise the value for money obtained from CQC resources.

Managing the process used by management to plan, evaluate and control finances within CQC on a Hub, Regional and Group basis.

Providing management accounting advice to managers across CQC, identifying trends and issues as they arise over time and ensuring these are resolved in the first instance, and prevented on an ongoing basis.

Developing and monitoring key financial performance indicators and disseminating appropriate financial information to functional heads for decision.

Monitoring changes in laws, regulations and technology that may affect CQC delivery; implement financial policy and procedural changes after approval.

Establishing and operating appropriate procedures for the management accounting processes and to ensure that these are properly documented, and that clear audit trails and quality working papers exist to support the accounts.

Assisting with development of the annual budget process and financial planning including forecasting across all CQC functions.

Ensuring that financial risk is identified and managed effectively.

Have the appropriate knowledge, skills and experience to actively promote diversity and equality of opportunity, treat everyone with dignity and respect and avoid unlawful discrimination.

Demonstrating appropriate leadership behaviours to engender CQC’s values and facilitate an engaged and effective working environment.

**Essential Skills and Experience**:
Qualified Accountant.

Experience of working with digital and capital programmes

Significant experience of analysing business performance, preferably within a public sector environment

Experience of being involved in the implementation of new finance system or involvement in the improvement of business processes.

Highly analytical.

IT literate, with knowledge and experience of key management accounting packages.

Strong stakeholder management skills.

Experience of D365 Dynamics (desirable)**.**
