If so, we have a fantastic opportunity to join the expanding bioanalytical team here at Domainex, a multi-award winning integrated drug discovery contract research organisation.
**What Is This Job All About?**
You will be part of a small team of bioanalytical scientists, contributing to the team's relevant projects and activities, collaborating closely to ensure the successes of your team.
You will spend your time developing and running in-tact and bottom-up analysis of large molecules by LC-MS and will proactively seek out solutions to bioanalytical problems.
You will work closely with the other business disciplines of Biology and Chemistry to develop strong working relationships and future true partnerships across projects and teams.
**What Are We Looking for In This Exciting New Role?**
When you join Domainex we will be looking for you to have the ability to
- Operate, maintain and trouble shoot Waters triple quadrupole and Q-TOF instruments.
- Perform intact analysis of large molecules, peptide mapping for characterisation of proteins and bottom-up quantitation of large molecule biomarkers.
- Apply, evaluate and interpret scientific theories, concepts, techniques and new technologies in bioanalytical mass spectrometry to support early-stage drug discovery.
- Interact with and present data to current and prospective clients.
**What Educational Background Are We Expecting?**
BSc/MSc in chemistry/biochemistry or related analytical discipline with ideally 5 years’ experience within a bioanalytical LC-MS/MS setting, ideally in a research environment, or a relevant PHD with 2 years’ experience.
**What Experience Will You Have?**
- Proven experience of developing intact and bottom-up LC-MS methods for large molecules.
- Extensive experience troubleshooting bioanalytical assays and LC-MS methodology, ideally with both QQQ and QTOF instruments.
- Experience in performing/developing various sample extraction/purification techniques including proteolytic digestion, immunopurification and SPE.
- Proficient at processing and interpreting complex bioanalytical data sets as well as producing high quality reports.
- Experience in native mass spectrometry and/or affinity selection mass spectrometry would be beneficial.
- Experience in mass spectrometry based high throughput screening would be beneficial.
