**Job Title**: Finance Officer
**Salary**: Circa £26,000 depending on experience
**Location**: Stevenage
**Dynamic (hybrid) working**: 2 -3 days per week on-site due to workload classification
**Security Clearance**: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship
A vacancy has opened up in our busy and growing Accounting Transactions team for an experienced Accounts Payable Administrator or an exciting entry level opportunity for an accounting career within the wider Finance Directorate.
**The opportunity**:
The opportunity is to join a busy team and be actively involved with communicating with different areas of the business to ensure the Accounts Payable process is both understood and followed. The team process approximately 5,000 invoices each month, using both a purchase order and non-purchase order process.
**Your daily responsibilities would include**:
- Verify, process and post supplier invoices.
- Liaising with suppliers to resolve queries in a timely manner.
- Resolve and chase up any problems internally, to ensure invoices can be paid or disputed with supplier in a timely manner.
- Understand fully the Accounts Payable process, and be able to assist and train any employees in the wider business.
- Reconcile supplier statements to the Accounts Payable ledger.
- Build relationships with key stakeholders.
**What we're looking for from you**:
- Previous Accounts Payable experience, preferable but not essential.
- The ability to work on own initiative as well as being a team player.
- Excellent communication skills for internal and external communications.
- A keen analytical eye and attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving abilities.
- Effective planning, time management and organisational skills.
- The ability to manage critical issues and juggle multiple priorities.
- Able to use Microsoft Word /Excel to a basic standard.
- Able to use Microsoft Outlook.
- Knowledge of SAP is an advantage or have used another similar ERP system.
