**The Role**

As a Volunteer Social Media/ Communications Assistant at Age UK Enfield, you will play a crucial role in raising awareness and engaging the community in our mission to improve the lives of older adults. We are seeking a dynamic and collaborative team of volunteers to collectively take on the responsibilities of this role. Your primary responsibilities may include creating engaging and informative content for our blog, social media platforms, and newsletters.

**Time Commitment**:2 to 4 hours per week or monthly

Our Office Hours are 9am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday but remote working can be flexible.

**The Role Description**

Content Creation:

- Generate compelling blog posts, articles, and stories that highlight the impact of our services and community activities.
- Develop engaging content for social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram) to promote events, share updates, and connect with our audience.
- Create visually appealing and shareable content to enhance the online presence of Age UK Enfield that aligns with the organisation's messaging and branding guidelines.

Newsletter Production:

- Creation and distribution of quarterly newsletters to keep our supporters informed about our services, events, and success stories.
- Conduct research and contribute to the creation of a monthly Health and Wellbeing Bulletin specifically tailored for staff and volunteers.

Community Engagement:

- Monitor social media channels for comments, messages, and mentions, and respond promptly and appropriately.
- Encourage community interaction and participation through social media engagement.

Collaboration:

- Collaborate with other volunteers and staff to gather information and stories for content creation.

**Key Skills**
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Familiarity with social media platforms and content creation tools.
- Creativity and a passion for storytelling.
- Basic graphic design skills (Canva, Adobe Spark, etc.) are a plus.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Sensitivity and empathy towards the needs of older adults.

**Location**

Office is based a John Jackson Library but role involces remote working also.

**Requirements**:
A DBS Enhanced check will be required as well as two references. Training to be provided around safeguarding, professional boundaries, GDPR and health and safety.

Other Information

Travel costs and other volunteering expenses will be covered.
