The Bariatric MDT Co-ordinator will become part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) which includes surgeons, dietitians, nurses, eating disorders specialists, a metabolic physician and administrative staff.

The post holder will provide dedicated administrative support to the Bariatric MDT meeting working together to provide high quality care for patients. The post also encompasses a patient tracking role to ensure that all patients that are referred to MDT are discussed in a timely fashion and any actions required are tracked and actioned.

The post holder will play an important role in co-ordinating regular multi-disciplinary team meetings where treatment planning decisions are taken, and will be responsible for setting up video conferencing equipment and monitoring and recording the outcomes on the data base at each stage in the patient’s journey.

This is a key role with specific responsibilities to support the Lead Clinicians and multidisciplinary team in identifying patients for discussion at the weekly specialist MDT meetings.

**Some of these roles and responsibilities are**:
To be an active core member of the multi-disciplinary teams (MDTs)

To co-ordinate multi-disciplinary meetings (MDMs) for designated specialities in conjunction with the relevant Lead MDT Clinicians and Clinical Nurse Specialists (CNSs), ensuring that:
An agreed agenda is circulated prior to the meeting.

All required medical notes and imaging are available for the meeting.

To maintain a record of attendance at MDT Meetings

The video-conferencing equipment is in working condition prior to MDMs, taking responsibility for reporting faults to maintenance contractor and organising maintenance visits.

To liaise with MDT lead and other members of the MDT after the MDM to confirm next steps have been arranged for each patient discussed.

To ensure that all documentation from MDM is sent in a timely manner.

Arrange rooms for MDT meetings

To ensure that the MDM outcomes are appropriately recorded on EPR and on immediately at MDM (live recording) or immediately after MDM.

To ensure that the relevant imaging are reported and available on the PACS system and available for the meeting.
