**Role summary**:
The Buyer will join our purchasing team and will be a key figure in ensuring efficiencies within the operation. The Buyer must build and maintain strong relationships with our network of suppliers.

**Responsibilities**:

- Purchase goods and products in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets.
- Ensure continuous supply of required goods and escalate any supply issues which may pose a risk or impact the operations.
- Research and evaluate areas of opportunity to reduce costs where possible.
- Negotiate contracts, improve prices and terms of business with suppliers.
- Assess and evaluate suppliers and undertake performance reviews to ensure contract compliance and manage performance improvement activities.
- Ensure that a professional and consistent approach is upheld when managing all supplier relationships.
- Develop relationships with internal stakeholders to understand future requirements to improve processes.
- Assist with developing procurement processes and implement KPI’s to analyse & improve supplier performance.
- Maintain records and documentation to allow full traceability.
- Collaborate, negotiate, and engage with stakeholders and suppliers regarding new projects, supplies and initiatives and advising of impact.

**Skills & experience**:

- Fluent in Mandarin and English language (required)
- An understanding of supply chain management and logistics.
- Proficient in the use of MS Office - Excel & Word.
- Strong organisational / planning skills.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to demonstrate problem solving and provide resolution in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work on their own initiative with minimum supervision and prioritise workload.

**Desirable**:

- CIPS Level 4 or similar qualification in Purchasing.
- Ability to understand internal and external technical information.
- Industry knowledge would be advantageous.
