**About the Role**:
**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- **Internal Audit Activity**: a) Support the Chief Internal Auditor in challenging decisions made by Council operational managers. b) Undertake key operations of the team, including conducting operational/routine audit reviews and investigations. c) Use internal audit software systems and computer-aided audit techniques as directed by the Principal Auditor. d) Utilise planning and monitoring systems to minimise delays in the audit process. e) Produce written reports and briefing notes, updating the Principal Auditor on work progress. f) Conduct regular monitoring of the implementation of audit recommendations.
- ** Managing Client Relations**: a) Demonstrate a basic understanding of governance, risk management, and internal control systems. b) Ensure the integrity and accuracy of reports provided to client managers. c) Represent the team at client working groups and meetings.
- ** Supporting Team Performance**: a) Determine priorities and timescales for implementation of recommendations. b) Contribute to achieving performance indicators in accordance with the Quality Assurance and Improvement Programme. c) Comply with Public Sector Auditing Standards.
