**WELLBEING WORKER: CYP**

**Hours**: 37hr per week (Full Time.) Unsocial hours required to be worked up to 3 x evenings each week, depending on needs of service and opening hours of GP practices.

**Salary**: £25,000-£26,906 Salary dependent on skills, experience and knowledge.

**Contract**: Fixed Term 12 Months

**Base**: Banbury Alliance Primary Care Network (travel required between 3 GP Practices - Hightown Surgery, Windrush Surgery and Woodlands Surgery.)

**What will you do?**

This exciting new role, working across 3 GP Practices in Banbury, will deliver an early intervention service for children and young people, to support them in managing their mental health and wellbeing. This service aims to encourage and enable children and young people to link in with existing support services, use the support available in their local community, and develop their ability to manage their own wellbeing.

**Key responsibilities**
- Supporting service users to improve or maintain their mental health and wellbeing
- Collect and accurately record service user data onto a secure database in a timely manner
- Liaising with colleagues, partner organisations and professional agencies to support service user needs
- Keep up to date with the various services offered by NHS and third sector providers to enable appropriate information and signposting
- Conduct regular dynamic risk assessment and take appropriate and timely actions to manage the risks in relation to staff, service users and buildings
- Provide an excellent person-centred service 1:1 Interventions and Wellbeing sessions and focused signposting/referrals, for service users predominantly under 18 years of age
- To carry a case load of service users (children and young people) and to effectively manage all client contact DNAs (Did not attend or not supported by parent/carer or trusted adult to attend appointment), appointment reminders, etc and to agree the most appropriate next steps, i.e., signposting to another service etc
- To work with parents/carers and trusted adults so that they can be offered appropriate information and signposting, to help meet the needs of children and young people

**Essential Experience**

a) Knowledge and understanding of mental health issues, including the needs of children and young people under the age of 18, living with mental health problems

b) An understanding of good practice in safeguarding Children and Adults

c) Experience of working within mental health, wellbeing, or similar environments

d) Experience of working in a demanding environment

e) Experience of working as part of a team and communicating effectively

f) Experience of working with individuals/groups enabling them to identify their own g
