The People and Organisational Design Directorate has exciting immediate opportunities for HR Advisors to join us on a bank basis as we go through a period of cultural change, with increased activity levels, exciting projects and increased organisational change. Working within our People and Organisation Development directorate, with the support of a Senior HR Advisors you will support our managers to deliver the best approach to people management, reduce absence and improve recruitment and retention.

Your role will be to support the effective delivery of a high quality and professional Human Resources service providing focused challenge, advice and guidance to managers in the Trust and ensure effective implementation of, and compliance with, all workforce policies, procedures, workforce practices and standards.
You will be assigned agreed pieces of work to undertake which may include support to to a specific project, policy development, or advising on a specific employee relations case/ investigation including short & long-term sickness and manage a caseload of investigations i.e. disciplinary grievance and harassment and performance management issues.
Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) NHS Trust geographically covers nearly 6,000 square miles of varied terrain, from isolated moors and dales to urban areas, coastline and inner cities.
We serve a population of over five million people across Yorkshire and the Humber and strive to ensure that patients receive the right response to their care needs as quickly as possible, wherever they live.
We employ more than 7,100 staff, who together with over 1,300 volunteers, enable us to provide a vital 24-hour, seven-days-a-week, emergency and healthcare service.

YAS is a large and complex organisation so experience of a similar environment would be advantageous. NHS experience would be useful but is not essential and HR practitioners from all backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Experience of working with trade unions is essential.
Yorkshire Ambulance Service supports flexible working and work/life balance. The exact working hours will vary and will be arranged as required.
Trust wide travel will be needed occasionally. We take a hybrid working approach with a mix of home and office-based time.
**Essential skills and experience required**:
- Be educated to degree level or equivalent experience and have experience of generalist HR in a large and complex organisation
- Experience within operational HR with a good knowledge of employment law
- Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in a manner which is clear, fluent, persuasive, non-judgemental, and which enhances professional credibility.
- Able to plan and manage a demanding workload with competing priorities.
- Ability to develop effective working relationships, and demonstrate professional credibility with colleagues at all levels
- Ability to assimilate, analyse and interpret information and to summarise key issues clearly and concisely.
- Excellent IT skills to include Word Excel, Powerpoint, HR database
