Employ.ed on Campus internships are ONLY open to 2nd year to penultimate year undergraduate students from the University of Edinburgh based in the UK. You cannot take part if you are a visiting student, or you have already taken part in the programme before.

We are looking for an individual interesting in planning and producing training materials for a selection of modern chemical instruments within our state-of-the-art analytical and materials characterisation facility.

**The Opportunity**:
This post offers the opportunity to gain significant hands-on experience on a range of advanced analytical instrumentation within the School of Chemistry. The post holder will be required to learn how to operate a selection of the instruments available, design and produce both written and video training materials to support future users and aid in the general running and upkeep of the lab. These training materials are intended to form the basis of a larger, long-running strategy to make the School of Chemistry a world class instrument training facility. The post holder will also be required to spend part of their time working alongside a second Employ.ed Intern on the implementation of strategies to support the School’s Sustainability goals.

This post is full-time (35 hours per week), however, we are open to considering part-time or flexible working patterns. We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working, however, the vast majority of the work will require hands-on use of the instruments on site.

**Programme Information**

Employ.ed on Campus is run by the Careers Service in collaboration with University departments and Schools. It offers exclusive summer internships at the University over the summer for 2nd year to penultimate year undergraduate students from the University of Edinburgh. As well as great work experience, the Careers Service provides supporting resources, this is combined with a framework to support the development of participants’ employability and self-reflection with an Edinburgh Award as part of the internship.
