**About the Role**:
We are seeking an ambitious and results-oriented Ecommerce Assistant to join our team. As an Ecommerce Assistant, you will be responsible for developing and growing our online store for our successful Sussex based food brand. Working closely with the Food, Finance and Marketing teams, this role will be responsible for the full online sales process including merchandising, copywriting and CRM and database management. Key factors of the role will involve the content, the design and the back end of the website and overseeing such matters like security, online marketing and effective working with team members. The main focus of the role is conversion, attracting visitors by using campaigns, search engine optimization and attractive content, converting them into leads or sales.

Petworth Places trading as Market Town Developments Ltd is made up of several teams of dedicated people building a destination hospitality and food and beverage business with Stay, Eat, Visit at the heart of the business. Our core businesses are located in the beautiful South Downs market town of Petworth, West Sussex, and the historic market town of West Malling in Kent.

Established in 2010, the group comprises a multiple-award-winning food brand, The Hungry Guest (a double winner of UK delicatessen and farm shop of the year), E Street Bar & Grill, and The Angel Inn (with seven upmarket guest rooms and two luxury holiday apartment/villas - Ryde House and East House). The group also includes Augustus Brandt, an interiors and antiques business, and Newlands House Gallery, a modern and contemporary gallery and exhibition space.

Our accolades include E Street Bar and Grill being awarded best restaurant in the South East in 2019 and The Angel Inn being awarded best pub in West Sussex in 2022. E Street Bar and Grill joined the global Chaine des Rotisseurs in 2022.

In 2019 we established a new wedding venue and events business which is growing steadily and in 2022 we launched our wine series events at E Street Bar and Grill, which has been a great success.

**Responsibilities**:
**The Ecommerce Intern will be responsible for**:

- Managing all website content ensuring products are well represented, content is on brand and optimizer for search.
- Managing, updating, and optimizing product listings on ECommerce platforms.
- Owning CRM strategy and database.
- Producing regular reports using Google Analytics incorporating an ecommerce code of best practice - GDPR and PCI compliant.
- Working with third party agency to implement SEO and UX improvements to the site.
- Developing customer journey including new loyalty scheme.
- Monitoring competitors and industry trends and suggesting ways to improve the online customer journey and products available.
- Educating, engaging and transferring Ecommerce skills to operational teams.
- Responding to customer inquiries and reviews, maintaining high service standards.
- Collaborating on ECommerce campaigns and enhancing product visibility with the marketing team.
- Conducting market research, analyzing competitors, and identifying improvement opportunities.
- Optimizing product images and descriptions for enhanced online presentation.
- Staying updated on industry trends, recommending improvements and innovations.
- Working with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve ECommerce issues promptly.
