THE ROLE:
Join us as our Transport Planner/Administrator within our Huhtamaki Contract.
THE SALARY:
£28,000 to £30,000 dependent on experience.
SHIFT PATTERN:
Monday to Friday - 08:00 to 17:00
WHERE YOU WILL BE BASED:
This role will be based at our offices in Gosport, PO13 0PR.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
In this role you will assist with planning and liaising with customers and arranging book ins for deliveries. Carrying out general day to day duties relating to the transport function - including but not limited to:
- Contribute to effective planning and organisation of vehicles and effective planning and organisation of drivers
- Daily face to face customer interaction
- Efficient control of costs and planning to ensure the optimum resource utilisation.
- Despatch drivers /loads
- Brief and debrief Drivers
- Liaise with company workshops / service providers to ensure vehicle maintenance standards are met
- Ensure EU drivers legislation is adhered to.
- Provide updates on collections & deliveries to the client
- Working unsupervised, continually managing time and prioritising work to meet tight deadlines
- Data Input and use of computer systems,
- Making bookings in for deliveries to customers
- Updating customers with delivery detail in real time
- Despatch drivers /loads
- Production of appropriate documentation
- Assorted general administrative tasks.
- Dealing with queries and follow an escalation process as required
- Filing and keeping of records
- Undertaking any other tasks/duties as may be reasonably required.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
- Experience of a complex logistics operations
- Industry knowledge of distribution, logistics and supply chain management
- Transport Planning / Operational background preferred
- Knowledge of relevant legislation (drivers hours / Vehicle weights / dimensions etc. ) desirable
- Excellent attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure
- Flexible attitude to working hours
- Good organisational skills
- Good at task management and prioritisation
- Team player
- Ability to work under own initiative
- Competent in standard PC suites i.e.; office, excel, outlook
